Reproductive Freedom for All Endorses Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell for Re-Election

BOSTON, MA—Today, Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America) announced its endorsement of Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell’s campaign for re-election, praising her unwavering leadership protecting reproductive freedom and standing up for patients, providers, and residents across Massachusetts.

“As Attorney General, I’ve made it clear that the right to reproductive freedom is personal, it’s fundamental, and it must be protected,” said Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. “In Massachusetts, we will not allow politicians to roll back our rights or interfere with the most personal decisions people make about their bodies and their lives. I’m honored to earn the support of Reproductive Freedom for All as we continue this work together.”

Since taking office, Campbell has been a national leader in defending abortion access, safeguarding patient privacy, and pushing back against federal and state-level efforts to restrict reproductive health care. Her office has taken action to protect providers and patients from harassment, enforce Massachusetts’ shield laws, and ensure the Commonwealth remains a safe haven for reproductive freedom.

“Attorney General Andrea Campbell is exactly the kind of fearless leader we need in this moment,” said Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All. “She has used every tool at her disposal to protect abortion access, defend providers, and ensure that people, not politicians, can make their own reproductive health care decisions. As abortion rights are under attack across the country, Andrea Campbell has shown what it looks like to lead with courage, clarity, and conviction. We’re proud to endorse her reelection.”

About Andrea Joy Campbell:

Andrea Joy Campbell’s journey to become Massachusetts’ first Black woman Attorney General didn’t follow a traditional path. After losing her mother in a car accident as an infant and entering the foster care system while her father was incarcerated, Andrea was raised by a community of family and educators who believed in her potential. Her twin brother, Andre, died in Department of Correction custody due to inadequate medical care – a tragedy that drives her fight for accountability and fairness in our justice system. The first in her family to go to college, Andrea went on to graduate from Princeton and UCLA Law, serve as legal counsel to Governor Deval Patrick, and become the first Black woman to serve as Boston City Council President. Raised in Roxbury and the South End, Andrea is a proud Boston public school graduate who attended five different schools, including Boston Latin. Her story – of loss, resilience, faith, and opportunity – is an American story of what’s possible when the government works for people and when someone is in your corner fighting for you.
