BOSTON — Andrea Campbell’s campaign for Mayor of Boston today announced that Katie Prisco-Buxbaum, a veteran of Massachusetts, California and national politics, will serve as Campaign Manager. Prisco-Buxbaum managed Campbell’s first campaign for City Council in 2015, when Campbell defeated 32-year incumbent Councilor Charles Yancey to become the first woman and second-ever District 4 City Councilor.
Prisco-Buxbaum joins Campbell’s campaign after most recently running one of Massachusetts’ most competitive campaigns this year, Jesse Mermell’s campaign for the 4th Congressional District. She previously worked as Southwest Finance Director for Senator Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, covering six states and raising $5.5 million, after working for California Governor Gavin Newsom’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign, and Senator Harris’ 2016 Senate campaign.
Prisco-Buxbaum has extensive campaign experience in Massachusetts. Prior to managing Campbell’s 2015 race, Prisco-Buxbaum worked on Martha Coakley’s 2014 gubernatorial campaign and for the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
“Katie is a proven fighter for equity and justice, and has been a member of my campaign family since day one,” said Campbell. “We are blessed to have Katie, an expert campaign strategist who leads with integrity and compassion, and has deep political roots in Boston, at the helm of our campaign. She built an unprecedented grassroots campaign in our district in 2015 when no one thought I had a chance, and I am confident that she will lead our grassroots-powered team across the finish line next September.”
